TBB Triple Beam Balance
The TBB Triple Beam Balance is a fully mechanical scale built for daily classroom use, no batteries, no electronics, nothing to charge or go flat. Sturdy metal housing and a grade 304 stainless steel pan stand up to years of student handling, and a security slot accepts an optional lock and cable to keep it in place on a shared bench.
Built the old-fashioned way, on purpose
Reading and accuracy
Notched, tiered, centre-reading beams make it straightforward to read an accurate result, and magnetic damping slows the pointer down so it settles faster than a plain mechanical balance. A weigh-below hook and tripod legs let you measure density or specific gravity by suspending a sample beneath the pan.
Storage and setup
Built-in grooves hold the full weight set when it's not on the pan, so nothing goes missing in a drawer. Zero adjustment lets you correct for wear or a knock before you start weighing.
Where you'll actually use it
- Science classrooms, for teaching mass measurement concepts
- General laboratories and industry, where a reliable, power-free balance is preferred
- Density and specific gravity determination, using the weigh-below hook and tripod legs
- Field or off-grid settings with no access to power
Choosing your variant
Both variants weigh up to 2610g at 0.1g readability. The TBB2610T adds a dedicated tare beam with a 225g range, so you can zero out a container's weight before weighing your sample. The TBB2610S doesn't have that beam, so choose it if you'll mostly be weighing loose samples directly on the pan.
