What is a microscope slide box?
A microscope slide box is a rigid plastic storage case with individual slots that hold standard 76 x 26 mm glass microscope slides safely and separately. Each slot prevents slides from knocking together, protecting the specimen on the surface and the frosted labelling area at the end. Slide boxes come in capacities from 25 to 100 slides and are the standard storage method in school biology laboratories, university histology departments, and pathology archives worldwide.
SmartLabs also stocks slide racks for drying freshly stained slides, pipette storage boxes for protecting long-stem pipettes from breakage, and petri dish racks for stacking culture dishes safely on a lab bench. These accessory storage products are designed for the same labs that use microscopes and slides, keeping fragile equipment protected and easy to locate.
All slide boxes in our range accept standard 76 x 26 mm slides and are made from polypropylene or ABS plastic that is chemically resistant to the stains, solvents, and disinfectants used in routine microscopy work.
