How to choose the right paper or strip

For routine pH screening in water testing or food production, full-range 0-14 pH indicator strips give a quick, reliable reading without any equipment. For filtration in a professional lab, match the filter paper grade to the particle size you are separating: grade 601 suits general filtration, grade 642 provides faster flow for coarser particles, and grade 631 sits between the two. Chromatography paper is specifically designed for separation and identification work and is not interchangeable with general filter paper.
