Qualitative Filter Paper

This qualitative filter paper comes in packs of 100 circles and is a basic consumable in school science labs, used for general filtration where the solid residue doesn't need to be weighed. Unlike quantitative (ashless) paper, it's meant for separating and identifying materials rather than precise mass measurement.

Sizes

The circles come in several diameters to fit standard laboratory funnels:

• Small: 90mm
• Medium: 110mm, 125mm, 150mm
• Large: 185mm, 240mm
• Tip: For the best fit, choose a circle about 1.5 to 1.8 times the diameter of your funnel rim.

Classroom Applications

• General filtration: Separating sand from water or clearing cloudy solutions.
• Collecting precipitates: Collecting solids formed in chemical reactions, such as calcium carbonate.
• Paper chromatography: Used as the stationary phase to separate ink pigments or leaf extracts.
