Bunsen Burners & Lab Burners

Bunsen burners and lab burners are used daily in pharmaceutical labs, food testing facilities, industrial research departments, and school chemistry classrooms across South Africa. SmartLabs stocks LPG Bunsen burners, Teclu-style burners, stainless steel spirit lamps, glass alcohol lamps, and portable cartridge gas stoves, from spirit lamps at R40 to adjustable heavy-duty LPG burners at R600. All orders are dispatched from our Boksburg warehouse.

How to choose the right lab burner

Use an LPG Bunsen burner when you need a controllable, hot flame for flame tests, heating solutions, sterilisation, or glasswork in a professional setting. Spirit lamps are preferred for lower-temperature applications or in environments where open LPG is restricted. Portable cartridge stoves suit field sampling, mobile labs, and facilities without a fixed gas supply.

Frequently asked questions

Are your Bunsen burners suitable for industrial laboratory use?

Yes. Our LPG and Teclu-style Bunsen burners are used in pharmaceutical, food testing, and chemical research labs as well as school classrooms. They are built for frequent, repeated use.

What gas do these burners use?

Most models use LPG. Our cartridge-type burners run on standard 190g and 300g butane cartridges, sold separately on the site.

Do you sell fuel cartridges separately?

Yes, we stock butane cartridges including the CV300 Plus, available individually or in multipacks.
