What is a plastic burette?
A plastic burette is a long graduated tube with a precision stopcock at the base, made from acrylic (PMMA), used to dispense measured volumes of liquid during titrations and other volumetric analyses. Plastic burettes are an alternative to glass where breakage is a concern, or where the titrant is incompatible with glass joints, such as hydrofluoric acid solutions and strongly alkaline liquids that etch glass over time.
SmartLabs stocks an acrylic burette with a PTFE stopcock in 25 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml sizes, suited to educational and semi-professional titration work across South African schools and universities.
