I am extremely disappointed in the wire, because it is to be used to wind 4 stator coils for a project.. But this wire is hard drawn and makes it practically impossible to hand wind , let alone do tight windings, hardly possible. And the second problem is that There are no way to determine the length of the wire as this is critical information for me. I will have to un roll it, stretch it out and measure the wire. The price itself was very good which was the deciding factor to buy it, but I am sorry I bought it, it was a total waste of money for me. And the 3rd disappointment was the extreme shipping cost, which is way over priced, the breakdown as follows:

Therefore, as you can see, the shipping and taxes on top of the shipping above. There are many better priced couriers available such as Courier Guy, who would have done it at a fraction of this high price. I was not allowed to send my own courier. This is another FLAG. Why ?? Sorry Smart Labs, this was and still is an ongoing frustration for me.

On the wire itself, a thicker gauge is naturally harder to hand wind tightly, next time give us a call before ordering and we can help you pick a gauge that suits hand winding better. Our suppliers only give us the wire by weight, not length, that's why we don't list a length on these products, since it can vary a little from spool to spool. We're happy to help you work out an estimate from the gauge and weight if that helps. On the shipping cost, our standard rate covers packaging built around glassware and lab equipment, which does push the price up for smaller items like a spool of wire. For next time, you can select Collection/ Pickup at checkout instead of Shipping, and then arrange your own courier to collect directly from us, that would save you a fair bit. Enamel Copper Wire
