The EDM80 DC Moving Coil Ammeter is a professional-grade analog instrument designed specifically for electricity and electronics experiments in schools and universities. It uses a highly sensitive moving coil mechanism to detect and measure direct current. 

• Mechanism: Permanent magnet, spring-controlled moving coil with jewelled bearings and hard polished pivots for smooth, stable operation.
• Accuracy: Typically 2.5% or 2% of full scale deflection (FSD).
• Design: Housed in a sturdy, often yellow or black, ABS plastic desk stand with a clear acrylic front cover.
• Scale Features: Includes a clear 60mm scale with a fine knife-edge pointer and an anti-parallax mirror for precise readings.
• Connectivity: Equipped with 4mm colour-coded safety terminals (usually red and black) that support both stackable banana plugs and standard screw terminals. 

• Ammeters: Common ranges include 0–1A, 0–3A, 0–5A, or 0–10A.
• Milli-Ammeters: Lower ranges like 0–100mA, 0–250mA, or 0–500mA for detecting smaller currents.
• Galvanometers: Centre-zero versions (e.g., 35-0-35mV or 30-0-30 divisions) used for detecting very weak currents in bridge measurements or electromagnetic induction experiments.
