Reservoir Flask glass joint connectors. Also known as a Biomass Flask. Manufactured with Borosilicate 3.3 glass. Used in steam distillation to optimize the extraction of essential oils/terpenes which is carried out by passing steam through the biomass (plant material) whereby the steam volatile compounds are vaporized then condensed and collected in the receiving flask. This steam distillation is not only commonly in the organic chemistry laboratory, but also suitable to use as a home distiller to extract essential oil.

It is recommended to use Glassware Joint Clips (717-001D) to hold glassware connectors, adapters and distillation connectors firmly in place while in use.
