Laboratory Glassware

Laboratory glassware is the borosilicate equipment used to measure, mix, heat and store liquids: beakers, flasks, burettes, pipettes, funnels, test tubes and the rest. Borosilicate is the standard because it survives a burner flame and most reagents without clouding or cracking.

Ours runs from single replacement beakers up to full distillation setups, so you can kit out a new lab or just replace the one thing that broke.

What is laboratory glassware?

Borosilicate is the reason lab glass behaves differently from ordinary glass. Boron oxide in the mix lowers how much the glass expands when heated, so it takes a burner flame or an autoclave cycle without cracking the way soda-lime does.

The other thing to look for is the grade. Class A glassware is made to tighter volume tolerances and usually ships with a batch certificate. Class B is looser and cheaper, and is fine for teaching work where the tolerance does not decide the result.
