This conical (Erlenmeyer) flask has a standard ground glass joint and is made from borosilicate 3.3 glass. It's designed for lab work that needs secure, leak-proof connections, such as distillation, titration or reflux heating.

Erlenmeyer flasks have a wide base with sides that taper up to a short neck. They're often graduated, with a ground glass or enamel spot you can label in pencil.

This jointed version has a ground glass neck for connecting to other lab apparatus.
