A glass sintered (fritted) disc Buchner Filter Funnel equipped with a standard ground joint stem with Vacuum . These funnels are designed for vacuum filtration where a secure, airtight connection to a filtering flask is required.

Key Features

  • Body & Disc: Made from high-quality Borosilicate 3.3 glass, known for its excellent chemical resistance and thermal stability.
  • Joint Type: Features a Standard Ground Mouth (conical joint) on the stem for direct fitment into laboratory flasks.
  • Design: Heavy-walled construction to safely withstand the pressure differential during vacuum-assisted filtration.
  • Vacuum Hose Barb: A hose barb (tubulation socket) is integrated into the stem, allowing the connection of flexible vacuum tubing.
  • Recommended Tubing I.D.: 6 mm - 8mm
  • Barb Outer Diameter (O.D.): 8mm - 10mm
  • Tapered Design: The barb is slightly conical; the measurement at the tip is usually 1–2 mm smaller than the measurement at the base to allow the tubing to slide on easily and then seal tightly.
  • Tubing Selection: Always choose tubing with an Internal Diameter (I.D.) that is 1–2 mm smaller than the barb's widest point.
  • Pressure Rating: For vacuum applications (like using a Buchner funnel), use heavy-wall vacuum tubing (typically rubber or silicone) to prevent the tube from collapsing under suction.
Porosity Grade  Pore Size (
m)
Common Application
G1 80 – 120 Coarse filtration; rapid flow
G2 40 – 80 Preparative filtration; crystalline precipitates
G3 15 – 40 Analytical work; fine precipitates (most common)
G4 5 – 15 Very fine precipitates; clarifying liquids
G5 1 – 2 Bacterial filtration; ultra-fine particles

Capacity (ml)  Standard Joint Size Approx. Disc Diameter (mm)
30 14/23 or 19/26 30
50 19/26 or 24/29 40
100 24/29 or 29/32 50

Usage Limitations
To prevent damage to the sintered glass disc, avoid using these funnels with:
  • Hydrofluoric acid (HF).
  • Hot concentrated phosphoric acid.
  • Hot concentrated alkaline solutions (alkali bases).
