Compass Plotting (One Glass Face) 25mm

This 25mm plotting compass (one glass face) is a compact compass used mainly in physics and geography classrooms to show magnetic fields. Unlike navigation compasses, plotting compasses are made for "plotting", which means mapping out the magnetic field lines around a magnet.

Key Specifications

• Dimensions: 25mm in diameter and about 6mm thick.
• Construction: A durable aluminium case with a single glass face that protects the needle from air currents and debris.
• Dial markings: Cardinal directions (N, S, E, W) and principal points to help with orientation and route plotting.
• Packaging: Sold as a pack of 10 (Pk10), a standard bulk buy for school labs and science departments.

Recommended Applications

• Magnetic field mapping: By placing several small compasses around a bar magnet, students can trace the direction of the field lines from the north pole to the south pole.
• Classroom demonstrations: Teachers use them to show the Earth's magnetic north or basic navigation principles.
• Lightweight navigation: They're made for lab use, but their small size makes them a handy backup for hobbyists, hikers or scouts practising basic map reading.
• Miniature projects: Good for model builders who need tiny working direction indicators.
