This digital heating mantle with magnetic stirrer has digital temperature control, and the stirrer speed can be controlled. The MMSC model is fitted with the magnetic stirrer to agitate or mix the solution.

The insulating material is heat-resisting alkali-free glass fibre, and the heating element is a sealed nickel-chromium alloy resistance wire. It has a large heating area and heats up quickly and evenly, with no flame. It is light, saves energy, and is safer and gentler on glass apparatus. Max temperature: room temperature to 300°C.

Not recommended if you intend to use it without the thermometer. A Joanlab heating mantle displays the HHH error if the temperature probe is not plugged in, or is not submerged in the solution, solvent or liquid.

Why this happens: the mantle's controller is programmed to look for a resistance signal from the external probe. If that probe is missing or "dry" (not submerged), the controller cannot verify the temperature of your sample, and it triggers the error to prevent a thermal runaway or fire.

Caution: using the mantle without the probe submerged means the unit will not know if your solvent is boiling over or if the flask is dry, so it requires much closer manual supervision. Also consider the MMS-CH.

Please note the probes are sensitive to aggressive acids. Please use a thermometer pocket when measuring the temperature of acids.

To measure the temperature of aggressive acids safely, keep the probe out of direct contact by using a protective thermometer pocket, or use a non-contact thermometer such as an infrared thermometer, or a glass thermometer. This protects the sensitive probe from corrosion and damage and keeps the readings accurate.
