These non-sterile disposable Pasteur (transfer) pipettes come in bulk packs and are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Unlike fragile glass versions, their one-piece construction with a built-in bulb is a safer, shatter-proof alternative to rubber-bulb setups. They're made for quick, uncalibrated liquid transfers without putting you or your sample at risk.

Non-sterile transfer pipettes are used for quick liquid handling where exact volumes and full sterility aren't needed. Because they're cheap and disposable, they remove the risk of cross-contamination between batches without any washing or autoclaving.

Advantages

  • Even suction: The blow-moulded LDPE has an even wall thickness around the bulb, so there are no weak spots that collapse unevenly, and suction stays smooth and predictable.
  • Tough material: LDPE resists mild acids, bases and biological fluids, and stays flexible enough to bend into small or deep containers.
  • No cross-contamination: Being single-use means no tedious glass washing cycles and no worn-out rubber teats to replace.

Best Used For

  • Educational labs, general industrial mixing, hobby compounding and non-sterile diagnostics.

They're widely used across many industries for the following:

1. General Laboratory and Routine Testing

  • Sample transfer: Moving blood, urine or chemicals from collection tubes to test wells or slides.
  • Reagent aliquoting: Adding drops of indicators, stains or buffers to a solution.
  • Supernatant removal: Drawing off the top layer of a liquid after centrifuging without disturbing the pellet.
  • pH adjustments: Adding acids or bases drop by drop to adjust a solution's pH.

2. Clinical and Medical Diagnostics (Non-Culture)

  • Rapid test kits: Transferring patient samples onto lateral flow test cassettes (such as rapid drug screens or pregnancy tests).
  • Haematology: Placing drops of blood onto glass slides to make blood smears for the microscope.

3. Industrial and Chemical Manufacturing

  • Quality control (QC): Sampling raw materials or finished liquid products from production lines for routine analysis.
  • Battery maintenance: Safely drawing up or topping up distilled water or electrolyte in machinery battery cells.

4. Compounding, Cosmetics and Hobby Use

  • Essential oils and perfumery: Blending exact drop counts of volatile oils and fragrances.
  • Art and crafts: Transferring liquid dyes, inks, alcohol mediums or epoxy resin components into moulds.
  • E-liquid mixing: Measuring out flavour concentrates and liquid bases during DIY blending.
