Vacuum solvent filtration is a rapid and efficient laboratory technique for separating a solid from a liquid solvent by applying a vacuum. It is most useful for separating a solid that has precipitated or crystallized from a relatively large volume of solvent. A vacuum is used to pull the liquid through the filter paper, leaving the solid behind. Also called a Filtration Set-up.
