A Class B glass burette with a PTFE stopcock is the standard choice for general laboratory titrations, where high precision is needed but formal certification isn't necessary. It combines the chemical resistance of borosilicate glass with a maintenance-free valve.

The PTFE stopcock (key) is self-lubricating and grease-free, unlike glass keys, which prevents "frozen" valves and stops samples being contaminated by stopcock grease. Class B accuracy gives a standard tolerance (e.g. ±0.10mL for a 50mL unit), twice that of Class A, but suitable for most educational and routine industrial tests. It's built from Borosilicate 3.3 glass, highly resistant to acids, alkalis and thermal shock, and usually has permanent, easy-to-read blue or white enamel graduations.
