This Adam OIML M1 weight set (1g to 5kg) is a complete group of stainless steel test weights for calibrating balances to OIML standards. M1 weights are an affordable way to calibrate compact portable balances and bench scales.
Adam Equipment makes OIML weight sets in classes E2, F1 and M1 to cover a range of calibration needs, from high-precision laboratory balances to compact industrial scales. The weights are stored in an aluminium case.
OIML Weight Classes
Each class is designed for a different level of precision and type of balance:
- Class E2: The highest accuracy of these three, for calibrating high-resolution analytical balances and special accuracy Class I precision balances.
- Class F1: For calibrating high-accuracy Class II precision balances and for checking lower-class weights like F2.
- Class M1: An affordable option for calibrating compact portable balances, bench scales and medium-accuracy Class III industrial scales.

SANAS Calibration Certificate
A SANAS calibration certificate is an official, internationally recognised document issued by a laboratory accredited by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS). It confirms that a measuring instrument (like a balance, gauge or thermometer) is accurate, traceable to national standards and compliant with ISO/IEC 17025.
If you need a SANAS calibration certificate, please let us know. It's available at an additional cost.
What Is an OIML Certificate?
OIML certificates are international, voluntary type examination documents. They confirm that a type of measuring instrument (such as a scale or meter) complies with the recommendations of the International Organization of Legal Metrology.
Is an OIML Certificate the Same as a SANAS Calibration Certificate?
No, they serve different purposes. An OIML certificate confirms that an instrument's type meets international metrology requirements. A SANAS certificate confirms the accuracy and traceability of one specific instrument through calibration.
