This OMSONS straight vacuum receiver adapter is designed for lab distillation setups. It connects a condenser to a receiving flask and adds a side arm for a vacuum or inert gas connection, so it works as a bridge that adds a vacuum port to a setup that doesn't have one.

Applications

  • Filtration: With a standard Buchner funnel and a plain Erlenmeyer flask (neither of which has a side arm), putting this adapter between them turns the setup into a vacuum filtration setup.
  • Vertical distillation: Where space is tight or the setup has to be vertical, it lets you pull a vacuum directly above the receiving flask without a bent vacuum receiver or a side-arm condenser.

Because it has a drip tip inside the lower joint, the liquid drops straight into the centre of the flask instead of running down the ground glass joint, which prevents sticking and contamination.
