The 105° Distillation Receiver Adapter (also known as a "bent" or "delivery" adapter) is a critical component used to connect the end of a condenser to a receiving flask. It is specifically designed to bridge the gap between a condenser and a Büchner filter flask (or other deep receiving vessels), ensuring the distillate is captured deep within the flask to prevent splashing or premature evaporation.

Key Technical Specifications
  • Angle: 105-degree bend, providing the standard downward slope from a horizontal condenser.
  • Joint Size: 24/29 Standard Taper (ST/NS) ground glass socket (top) and cone (bottom).
  • Extended Drip Tip: Features a long internal delivery tube (often 100mm to 200mm in length) that extends far past the ground glass cone.
  • Material: High-grade Borosilicate Glass 3.3, resistant to thermal shock and corrosive chemicals.
Why use a Long Drip Tip?
  • Deep Capture: In a Büchner vacuum flask, the side-arm of the flask is high up; a long drip tip ensures the liquid bypasses the flask's vacuum hole and drops directly into the bottom.
  • Reduced Loss: Minimizes "aerosolising" or splashing of the distillate, which is critical when collecting small volumes of expensive or volatile liquids.
