The CBX Compact Balance is built for anyone who needs a reliable scale that doesn't have to sit next to a power outlet. Its internal rechargeable battery charges over a standard USB cable and runs for up to 216 hours per charge, so it moves freely between a lab bench, an office, and a production floor. Solid ABS housing and a removable grade 304 stainless steel pan mean it wipes clean fast, even after demanding use.

Built for hands-on, everyday use

Display and controls

The backlit LCD uses 18mm-high digits for a clear readout from any angle, and the keypad covers Mode/Units, Tare/Zero, a dedicated counting key, and power, with a low-battery indicator so you're never caught out mid-task.

Parts counting

A built-in parts-counting mode uses preset sample sizes (10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 pieces). Weigh a known sample and the CBX calculates the count for the rest, which is genuinely useful for stocktaking or bundling small parts on a production line.

Where you'll actually use it

The CBX turns up in a wider range of settings than a typical lab balance:

  • Laboratories and quality control benches
  • Offices and light production environments
  • Manufacturing and inventory counting, using the parts-counting mode
  • Fieldwork and multi-location use, since it runs on USB rechargeable power rather than mains

Choosing your capacity

The CBX comes in three capacities: 1200g at 0.1g readability, 3000g at 0.5g readability, and 6000g at 1g readability. Choose based on the heaviest single item you expect to weigh regularly, not your total sample volume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy batteries for the CBX balance?

No. The CBX has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery that's charged via a USB cable, which is included. A single charge lasts up to 216 hours of use.

Can the CBX count parts, not just weigh them?

Yes, it has a built-in parts-counting mode with preset sample sizes (10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 pieces). You weigh a known sample, and it calculates the piece count for the rest.

What's the readability difference between the three CBX models?

The CBX1201 reads to 0.1g, the CBX3001 to 0.5g, and the CBX6000 to 1g. Readability gets coarser as capacity goes up, which is normal for this type of balance.

Is the CBX suitable for splashy or dusty environments?

It has a solid ABS housing and a stainless steel pan that wipes down easily, but it isn't IP-rated or sealed against liquid ingress, so treat it like a standard lab/office balance rather than a washdown scale.
