Compound Binocular School Microscope

This microscope is an intermediate binocular head student microscope with a coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs with a plain stage. The microscope is supplied as standard with two eyepiece, a WF10x/16mm and a WF25x/9mm eyepiece allowing for the microscope to have a total magnification of up to 1 000x magnification with the use of the 25x 9mm eyepiece. The microscope is fitted with 4x,10x,40x (Spring) achromatic objective, plan stage with clips and an LED light powered by external AC adaptor or by 3 x AA batteries.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it reach 1000x?

Through the WF25x eyepiece with the 40x objective. There's no oil immersion lens, so 1000x makes the image bigger without adding detail. Most school work sits at 400x.

Is it binocular like a lab microscope?

The head is binocular, so both eyes stay open. The rest of the build is a school microscope: plain stage with clips, LED lighting and battery power.

Does it need a plug point?

Not necessarily. Three AA batteries run it, which suits classrooms short on plug points. An AC adapter is included.

How do I move the slide?

By hand. The clips hold the slide on a plain stage. If you want knob-driven movement, look at our models with a mechanical stage.
