  • Vertical Alignment: Ensure the tube is perfectly vertical so the condensed liquid (reflux) can flow evenly over the thorns back into the flask.
  • Thermometer Placement: Ensure the thermometer bulb is positioned exactly at the junction of the side-arm to measure the vapor temperature accurately just before it enters the condenser.
