This flat-bottom glass evaporating dish with a spout is made from borosilicate 3.3 glass. It's a shallow, heat-resistant lab dish for evaporating the solvent from a solution, leaving a concentrated liquid or solid residue behind. Borosilicate 3.3 glass gives it high resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack.

Recommended Use

  • Quantitative analysis: Ideal for recovering the dissolved solids from a liquid sample.
  • High-heat work: The flat bottom transfers heat well from a hot plate. Don't fill it more than two-thirds full when heating, to prevent splashing.

Material Properties

  • Thermal stability: Maximum working temperature of 500°C.
