Distilling flask made of high-quality, heavy-duty Borosilicate 3.3 Glass with three angled necks. Round bottom with conical ground joints connection joints usfull for distillation purposes. It is recommended to use Glassware Joint Clips (717-001B and 717-001D) to hold glassware connectors, adapters and distillation connectors firmly in place while in use.

Please select appropriate volume and joint size in the drop down menu.

Key Features
  • Material: High-duty Borosilicate 3.3 Glass, providing excellent thermal shock resistance.
  • Joints: Equipped with interchangeable ground glass conical joints (sockets) for vacuum-tight connections.
  • Capacities: Commonly available from 100 ml up to 20,000 ml (20L).
  • Typical Joint Sizes: Combinations such as 24/29 center with 19/26 side joints are standard.
Key Configurations
OMSONS offers two primary neck orientations for different spatial and equipment needs:
  • Angular Three Necks: The center neck is vertical, while the two side necks are 180° apart and inclined at a 20° angle. This is ideal for adding reagents via dropping funnels or inserting thermometers without interfering with a central condenser.
  • Parallel Three Necks: The center neck and both side necks are vertical and parallel to each other. This setup is often preferred for mechanical stirring where multiple vertical shafts or probes are required.
Common Applications
The three necks allow for a multi-functional experimental setup:
  1. Center Neck: Typically for a primary condenser or a mechanical stirrer.
  2. Side Neck 1: Often used for an addition funnel to introduce reagents.
  3. Side Neck 2: Used for monitoring (thermometer/thermocouple) or maintaining an inert atmosphere (gas inlet).
Usage Tip
When using a Mechanical Overhead Stirrer, always use the center neck for the stirring shaft. The angular side necks should be reserved for stationary items like gas inlets or temperature probes to avoid interference with the rotating shaft.
