Acid Resist Finish

The acid resist finish is a water-resistant treatment that stops the fabric from being wetted by acids and other chemicals, provided the coat is cared for correctly. The finish is tested to the ISO6530 method, using concentrated hydrochloric, sulphuric and nitric acids, along with a strong alkali (caustic soda), to check the fabric's resistance. The treatment uses a permanent fluorocarbon chemical and should keep working for up to 50 washes, as long as each wash includes a thorough rinse to remove any wetting agents, followed by a hot iron to regenerate the finish.
