Hydraulic Lifting Bridge School Project Kit

A bascule bridge is the type with two hinged leaves that lift together to let a ship pass underneath, and that's what this kit builds. Push the syringes and both halves rise in one motion. It's one of the more ambitious builds in the range, because the two sides have to lift evenly or the whole thing binds.

What your learner works with

• Two hinged MDF leaves that have to lift evenly
• A syringe and tubing hydraulic circuit on each side
• Laser-cut towers carrying the pivot and the load
• Bleeding air out of the lines, or the lift goes spongy

Covers both Structures and Mechanical Systems and Control in CAPS Technology, Grade 9. Useful if the brief calls for something that moves, not just something that stands.
