The JOANLAB DS-900 infrared sterilizer sterilises inoculating loops, inoculating needles and culture tube mouths in 5 to 7 seconds, with no open flame. It replaces the alcohol lamp, which makes it safer to use in a biological safety cabinet, a clean bench or an anaerobic chamber.

Switch it on and let it warm up for 10 to 20 minutes. The heating hole then holds up to 825°C (±50°C). It has two settings, 400°C and 850°C, and takes items up to 14mm across in a 150mm deep heating zone. It's small, light and easy to clean.
