Microscope Slide – Flower Bud L.S. (Dicot)

The slides are prepared by adhering to professional standard biological section-making techniques, strictly controlling every step from sample collection, fixation, dehydration, embedding to sectioning, staining and mounting, ensuring the quality of each section.

This prepared microscope slide features a longitudinal section of a dicot flower bud, offering a clear view of the internal structure of the developing flower. The slide allows observation of the arrangement of floral organs, including sepals, petals, stamens, and carpels, along with the central axis and supporting tissues.

Use in Education:

Ideal for botany, plant biology, and horticulture courses, this slide is a valuable tool for studying the anatomy and organization of dicot flowers. It can be used in classroom demonstrations, laboratory exercises, and introductory lessons on plant structure and development. Students can practice microscope techniques while examining the longitudinal organization of floral organs and gaining a better understanding of plant morphology.

Key Benefits and Features

  • Raw material: Only raw material from fresh and undamaged biological tissue are selected, ensuring the authenticity and scientific nature of the sections observed.
  • Preservation Method: Fixative.
  • Fixatives: Professional fixatives are used to quickly preserve the samples, preventing deformation and deterioration of tissue cells.Through multiple steps such as gradient dehydration, transparency, and wax immersion, ensuring the uniform texture and moderate hardness of the tissue, laying a solid foundation for subsequent sectioning. Each step is strictly controlled in terms of time and reagent concentration to avoid human errors that may affect the quality of the specimens. Please note that step may vary depending on the specimen being mounted.
  • Sectioning: With high-precision sectioning machines and the manual operation of experienced technicians to perform precis adjust of the section thickness ensuring uniform thickness, no wrinkles, and no damage to the sections. Conventionally 5-10um, customizable as needed. Please note that step may vary depending on the specimen being mounted.
  • Staining and Mounting: Using classic methods such as hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, with precise timing to the second, ensuring clear contrast between the cell nucleus and cytoplasm and clear colours. Use high-transparency resin glue for mounting, which closely adheres to the slide and cover glass, preventing moisture and oxidation, allowing the sections to be stored for a long time and reused, with colors not fading and structures not detaching. Please note that step may vary depending on the specimen being mounted.

Useful knowledge of Prepared microscope slides

  • C.S. = Cross Section: slide shows a thin section through the transverse plane of an organism or tissue.
  • L.S. = Longitudinal Section: slide shows a vertical section of the organism along the longest plane.
  • C.S. & L.S. = Cross Section and Longitudinal Section on the same slide for comparison
  • W.M. = Whole Mount: slide shows an entire organism or structure, as indicated, is preserved on the slide
