Heart and Lungs Model - 4 Parts

This heart and lungs model is a detailed anatomical representation of the human heart and lung, with a focus on the respiratory and circulatory systems. It is dissectible into four parts and has a larynx, trachea and bronchial tree, along with the heart, subclavian artery and vein, vena cava, aorta, pulmonary artery, esophagus, and removable front halves of the lungs and diaphragm.

The model is hand-painted for accurate colouring and detailing and is supplied with an English key card to identify the numbered structures.

• Larynx: the voice box, located at the top of the trachea
• Windpipe (trachea) with bronchial tree: the trachea is the main airway, and the bronchial tree consists of the bronchi and bronchioles that branch into the lungs
• Heart: the central organ of the circulatory system, represented here as a two-part model for closer inspection
• Subclavian artery and vein: major blood vessels that supply and drain blood from the upper limbs
• Vena cava: a large vein that returns deoxygenated blood to the heart
• Aorta: the largest artery in the body, carrying oxygenated blood away from the heart
• Pulmonary artery: carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs
• Esophagus: the muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach
• Lungs: the two lungs have removable front halves, to show their internal structure
• Diaphragm: the muscular sheet that separates the chest cavity from the abdomen and plays a role in breathing
