Precision weighing for the semi-micro and analytical bench

The Polaris range from Adam Equipment covers both semi-micro and analytical weighing in one line of balances, so you can match the model to the readability your work actually needs. The "e" models (PAB 124e to PAB 424e) run on external calibration against a certified reference weight, while the "i" models (PAB 125i, PAB 124i to PAB 424i) calibrate themselves internally. The PAB 125i adds a dual 80g/120g range down to 0.00001g, plus Adam's Air Diversion Technology, which channels warm air away from the pan for steadier semi-micro readings.

Display and checkweighing

A 7.4-inch LCD, the largest display Adam has fitted to a balance, shows instructions, results and status at a glance. In checkweighing mode the backlight itself changes colour: red for over, yellow for under, green for on target, so you can confirm a sample without reading a single digit.

Draft shield and build

An LED-illuminated draft shield keeps the weighing chamber lit even in a dim fume hood, and lifts apart panel by panel for cleaning or transport. Underneath it, a grade 304 stainless steel pan sits inside a sealed, anti-spill ABS housing built for daily lab use.

Where it fits in the lab

Analytical and semi-micro balances like this are built for work where the fourth decimal place matters:

  • Pharmaceutical formulation and recipe weighing
  • Chemical analysis and moisture density testing
  • Quality control with GLP/GMP-compliant record keeping
  • University, research and industrial laboratories

Data and connectivity

Every Polaris balance stores up to 200 ingredients across 10 formulations (20 ingredients each) and up to 200,000 weighing results, all timestamped for GLP compliance. RJ45 Ethernet, Bluetooth, RS-232 and USB connections let it talk to a PC, printer or LIMS without transcription errors, and multi-level security (1 administrator plus up to 99 operators) keeps the settings under control in a shared lab.

What's included

Each Polaris balance ships with its removable draft shield, a grade 304 stainless steel pan, an in-use dust cover, a weigh-below hook, a power adapter and a user manual. It's backed by Adam Equipment's 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the "e" and "i" Polaris models?

The e models (PAB 124e to PAB 424e) use external calibration, so you calibrate them against a certified reference weight. The i models (PAB 125i, PAB 124i to PAB 424i) calibrate themselves internally instead. The PAB 125i also adds Air Diversion Technology, which channels warm air away from the pan for more stable semi-micro readings.

What does the colour-changing backlight do?

In checkweighing mode, the display backlight turns red when a sample is too heavy, yellow when it's too light and green when it falls within your set limits, so you get a result at a glance without reading the numbers.

How much data can it store, and can it connect to a PC or printer?

Internal memory holds up to 200 ingredients across 10 formulations (20 ingredients each) and up to 200,000 weighing results, with GLP-compliant data tracking. It connects via RJ45 Ethernet, Bluetooth, RS-232 or USB.

What comes with the balance, and how do I look after it?

Each Polaris balance ships with an in-use dust cover, a weigh-below hook and its LED-illuminated draft shield, which lifts apart for cleaning. Wipe the housing with a soft, damp cloth, avoid harsh solvents, and remove the stainless steel pan to clean it separately.
