Microlit Rambo Variable Volume Micropipette

The Microlit Rambo variable volume micropipette is a precision liquid handling instrument designed to improve accuracy by tackling air compression errors in real lab conditions.

The volume adjustment knob is built into the plunger button, so you can quickly spin to your target volume with one hand. The smooth rotation cuts setup time between sample runs.

How It Works

• Plunger integration: The knob doubles as the volume dial and the aspirating/dispensing plunger, so your hand stays in a natural, steady position.

Preventing Volume Drift

The knob turns easily, but it works together with the pipette's click-lock (detent) system. Once you stop turning and set your volume, an internal spring-and-ball mechanism locks the digits in place. That way the easy rotation can't shift the volume by accident while you press down to aspirate or blow out.

How μAir® Technology Works

Air displacement pipettes use an internal cushion of air to move liquid. In standard pipettes, there's a large "dead air space" between the piston and the tip. This air compresses and expands with room temperature and air pressure, which leads to inaccurate delivery.

• Less dead space: The patented μAir® design reduces the gap between the piston assembly and the tip cone.
• Less compression: With a smaller internal volume, the air cushion behaves more rigidly under pressure.
• Practical accuracy: You get stable, repeatable volumes despite normal changes in lab conditions.

• Secure volume setting: A spring- and ball-based digit change mechanism locks your setting firmly in place, so the volume doesn't drift during fast pipetting.
• Lower hand strain: A low-pressure plunger helps prevent repetitive strain injury (RSI). Operating forces are about 3 to 5 Newtons for aspiration and 10 to 14 Newtons for the final blow-out.
• Universal compatibility: A universal tapered tip cone. It's optimised for Microlit ProTips but fits almost all internationally standard universal-fit tips without jamming.
• Decontamination: Fully autoclavable. The whole pipette can go through steam sterilisation at 121°C and 15 psi for 15 to 20 minutes without changing its factory calibration.
