Respiratory System Model

This respiratory system model is a detailed longitudinal section (L.S.) of the human respiratory system, including the head and brain, nasal cavity, larynx, lungs and heart. It also shows the lobes of the lungs, the auricles and ventricles of the heart, the aortic arch, descending aorta, superior and inferior vena cava, and the right and left innominate veins. All parts are clearly labeled and numbered, with an English key card to identify them, and the model is hand-painted for accurate colouring and detailing.

• Head and brain: a sagittal section of the head and brain, with a view of the entry point of the upper respiratory tract (nose and nasal cavity)
• Nasal cavity: warms, moistens and filters air before it enters the lower respiratory tract
• Larynx (voice box): directs air to the trachea and plays a role in sound production
• Lungs: both lungs with their lobes, the branching of the bronchioles and the location of the alveoli, where gas exchange occurs
• Heart: its auricles and ventricles, and its proximity and functional relationship with the lungs
• Other structures: the trachea (windpipe), bronchi, and parts of the circulatory system like the aortic arch, superior and inferior vena cava, and innominate veins

The model is intended for educational use in biology and medical training.
