Solar System Model with Light Socket for Illumination

This solar system model is a 3D model that lets students visualize the relative sizes, colours and orbital positions of the planets, including Pluto, the outermost dwarf planet. It has a 15cm sun on a sturdy base, with the farthest (dwarf) planet positioned 45cm away, and a light socket for illumination. An illustrated guide with planet position tables is included.

It is a simplified orrery, which is a mechanical model of the solar system that demonstrates the relative motions and positions of the planets. The planets can be adjusted to represent their positions at different times of the year, which is helpful for understanding orbital mechanics and planetary alignment.
