Spatula Stainless Steel - Spoon End

This stainless steel spatula has a spoon at one end and a flat blade at the other, the classic lab spatula spoon for scooping and weighing out powders. It's made by OMSONS from polished Grade 202 stainless steel and sold individually in 150mm, 200mm, 250mm and 300mm lengths, so you can pick one to suit the depth of your beakers and flasks.

The spoon end scoops granules, powders and crystals from a bulk container into a weighing boat. Then the flat end lets you add or take away tiny amounts until you reach the exact weight. It's also good for breaking up small lumps, scraping residue off the sides of beakers, evaporating dishes and mortars, levelling off a measure, and stirring small volumes in test tubes or vials.

A mirror-polished finish stops samples sticking to the metal, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The spatula is made free of pits, burrs and sharp edges, often to standards like IS 3888. Because it's stainless steel, it can handle hot material and be sterilised in a flame, and it stands up to many acids, bases and solvents.

It's tough and easy to clean, which is why schools and universities use it when teaching gravimetric analysis. It's food-grade stainless steel as well, so food QC labs use it for sampling dry ingredients, and it's at home in a kitchen or restaurant too.
