A Class B volumetric flask is laboratory glassware for preparing solutions in general lab use, teaching and qualitative work. Class B has a lower precision than Class A, with a tolerance about twice that of Class A, and it is not supplied with a certificate.

A volumetric flask (also called a measuring flask or graduated flask) is calibrated to contain a precise volume at a certain temperature. It is used for precise dilutions and for preparing standard solutions. The flask is pear-shaped with a flat bottom, and the mouth has a joint to take a compatible stopper.

The neck is long and narrow, with a single etched ring graduation. The flask holds its stated volume when it is filled so that the bottom of the meniscus lines up with that mark. The marking is typically calibrated "to contain" (marked "TC" or "IN") at 20 °C, and the label also shows the nominal volume, tolerance and precision class.
