White Plastic Wash Bottle, PP

This white plastic wash bottle is made from polypropylene (PP) and is a chemically resistant squeeze bottle for dispensing liquids and rinsing lab equipment. PP is rigid and durable, with higher heat resistance than common LDPE wash bottles.

Cleaning and Care

• Daily rinsing: Use warm water and a mild, non-alkaline detergent to remove residues.
• Washing: Clean with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive pads or stiff brushes that can scratch the plastic.
• Drying: Air dry upside down to prevent moisture build-up and bacterial growth.

Sterilisation

• Autoclaving: These PP bottles are generally autoclavable at 121°C (15 psi) for 20 minutes.
• Important: Loosen or remove the screw cap before autoclaving, or the bottle can collapse or deform.
• Cooling: Let the bottle cool completely before refitting the cap, to avoid permanent deformation.

Chemical Compatibility

• Suitable liquids: Distilled water, detergents, alcohols (ethanol, isopropanol) and most acids and alkalis.
• Organic solvents: PP has good general resistance, but avoid storing strong oxidisers or aggressive solvents like benzene long-term, as they can degrade the plastic.
• Light protection: The white (opaque) bottle protects light-sensitive reagents better than clear models.
