This 6V bulb is a small E10 screw-in lamp for school electricity kits, circuit boards and science projects. It's rated at 6V and 0.5A, so it suits a 6V supply or four 1.5V cells in series.

It has a Miniature Edison Screw (MES) base, where E10 means the screw base is 10mm across, and it fits a standard MES E10 bulb holder. Keep it to its rated voltage. Too much burns the filament out, and too little leaves the bulb dim or dark.

It's an incandescent filament lamp in a clear glass bulb that screws in and out easily. Filament lamps give their best performance and longest life when they run at their rated voltage from a stabilised 50Hz AC supply, at 20°C to 25°C, with no mechanical vibration.
