A laboratory flask is a round or conical vessel with a narrow neck, used for mixing, heating, titration and distillation. The narrow neck is the point: it slows evaporation and lets you swirl the contents without losing any over the side.

Conical Erlenmeyer flasks do most of the day to day work, since the sloping sides make swirling easy during a titration. Volumetric flasks are calibrated to one exact volume and are what you use to make up a standard solution. Round bottom flasks heat evenly, which is why they sit under reflux and distillation setups. We also carry Buchner filter flasks, pear shape, iodine and specific gravity flasks.
